The 2026 Westminster 4th of July Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, July 4, from 4–10 p.m. at Westminster City Park, featuring fireworks at dusk. The event includes live music, food and beer vendors, and family-friendly activities. Note that fireworks in June/July begin at 10 p.m..

In 1885, Reverend John Scamahorn and 104 settlers from Indiana set up camp at the Lone Willow. Later that year, the town moved a mile west to accommodate the railroad.Just about a hundred years later, community members came together to organize a festival that would celebrate our region by bringing high quality artists to perform on multiple stages with dozens of high-end crafters and artisans in booths all around the city park. In a contest to name the festival, the organizers chose “Willow Tree Festival.”
